Dan Cherry has written a new edition of his book "Night of the Wind," telling the story of the infamous 1965 tornado outbreak in southern Michigan.

Property disputes at Devils Lake are well known. One of the more notorious took place in August 1894 over a Manitou Beach channel and dock.

A fire that destroyed the Colonial Dance Gardens hall during the early morning hours of Feb. 28, 1932, failed to stop the business from continuing.

"All in all, though," Dan Cherry writes, "I am grateful to be here and to be able to share the history Ive learned, and, in a few cases, have lived."
