Nearly 300 Tenneco workers at the Greenville, Michigan plant have been working without a new contract since the start of the pandemic.

The Ventra workers in central Michigan voted by 98 percent to authorize strike action, nearly three weeks after decisively rejecting a UAW-endorsed contract proposal.

“No one should have any doubt that the UAW executives will do everything they can to avoid calling a strike. They are continuing to meet behind closed doors with management, seeking to work out a repackaged deal.”

Workers at Ventra's plant in central Michigan voted down a UAW backed contract by 95 percent and are pressing to strike.

Will Lehman, a Mack Trucks worker who is running for president of the United Auto Workers union, called for support to Ventra and GM Subsystems workers who are facing attacks on their pay and conditions.

“We are launching this rank-and-file committee in order to fight for what we rightfully deserve: a livable wage, a safe workplace, time with our families, better health care and more.”
