The Northwest Public Schools Board of Education officially announcing the last day of school for the 2023-2024 year at its most recent meeting, among other agenda items.

The judge ruled the student plaintiff could not prove the school caused him harm.

According to a statement by ACLU of Nebraska, “The lawsuit argues that school officials’ decision to shutter the newspaper violated plaintiffs’ First Amendment free speech rights on three counts."
