Gary Green was fatally shot in the 22-hundred block of East Spruce on March 31st of last year. Now State’s Attorney Dan Wright says Devione Rayford has pleaded guilty to a charge of First Degree Murder in the killing. He was given the 35-year sentence as part of the plea deal.  

Springfield Police Chief Kenny Winslow said the department has developed and is trying to reimplement strategies to address gun violence in the city.
