Derrick Hayes of Springfield was found guilty Thursday of first-degree murder in the 2017 shooting of Sheena Malone. Hayes was also found guilty of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by the jury of eight men and four women. Hayes, 27, showed no emotion sitting at the defense table as the verdict was read by the clerk. The jury deliberated just over an hour. Hayes attorney, Mark Wykoff, polled the jury afterwards.
