Members of the Greenwood Cemetery Preservation Association will receive the annual Rosa L. Parks Award during Washington University in St. Louis' Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at Graham Chapel.
The John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics at Washington University in St. Louis will host a discussion with Heather Cox Richardson, author of "Democracy Awakening: Notes on the State of America," from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in Graham Chapel.
On Thursday afternoon, just over a dozen students participated in a “die-in” outside of the Danforth University Center (DUC) in support of Palestinians and to urge the University to cut ties with Boeing. The students laid down in the DUC courtyard, spreading Palestinian flags over their bodies, holding signs, and chanting.
The environmental advocacy group Green Action WashU, formerly known as Fossil Free WashU, announced its filing of a legal complaint against Washington University at the Fossil Fuel Divestment Rally this Monday, Oct. 30.
“In my entire life, I've never felt more silenced about my identity and being Palestinian [than] in my four years at WashU. And so it's nice to finally organize something to have our voices heard on campus,” organizer Ayah Hamdan said.
