Lori Stone, a career educator who left the classroom for a seat in the state Legislature, has made history on Nov. 7 as the first woman to be elected mayor of Warren.

Warren City Attorney Ethan Vinson announced in a press release Oct. 24 that complaints  were filed against Mai Xiong as well as four members of the Warren City Council with the Michigan Secretary of State last week.

WARREN — The Warren City Council candidates that made it past the Aug. 8 primary have shared their thoughts about winning and what is next for them as they prepare for the November election.

Despite Warren Mayor James Fouts serving his final term in the position he has held since 2007, primary election results indicate he still wields significant influence in the city with all of the candidates he endorsed advancing to the general election in November.

Mayor Jim Fouts delivered his final state of the city address, endorsing candidates for mayor, city council and city clerk in the upcoming election.

An employee at Lipari Foods in Warren is accused of stealing about $80,000 worth of frozen seafood over the course of five months.

The deadline for a candidate to withdraw is 4 p.m. Friday. The primary is Aug. 8.
