The Met Office says a new weather front will be a shock to the system for Brits following the heatwave, bringing with it winds of almost 50mph to Brighton and Scotland on Friday.

A low-pressure system located north and east of the UK will bring a chilly northerly wind that will sometimes push rain and showers southwards.

There will be brisk north-westerly winds and blustery showers today, which will make temperatures feel colder than over the weekend as they fall below average, according to the Met Office

The Met Office said localised areas in England and Wales will be hit by torrential rain, thunder and flooding again on Tuesday.

THUNDERSTORMS are set to hit Worcestershire marking the end of the heatwave.

The UK is entering a more unsettled period of weather, with thunderstorms dominating the forecast up to Wednesday.
