Making a bird poop mess on the cars beneath. These creatures are European starlings, and they fly in groups called murmurations. They are among the most populous birds in the country, and, as their name suggests, they are not native to Utah.

Whether you’ve just started bird-watching or you are an advanced “birder,” the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources asks bird watchers for help over the next few weeks gather data about birds during the 124th annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count.
