Laurin Krings put the “K” in her last name Saturday night. Krings struck out 11 batters, which included striking out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning, to complete a three-hitter Saturday night, leading the Missouri Tigers to a 2-0 win in an elimination game against Missouri State in the Columbia Regional of the NCAA Softball Tournament at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
It was Laurin Krings’ day. The Missouri sophomore right-hander recorded 12 strikeouts Friday afternoon to lead the Tigers to a 3-1 victory against Missouri State in the opening game of the Columbia Regional in the NCAA Softball Tournament.
The Missouri Tigers open NCAA Softball Tournament play today at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
Missouri (36-20), the No. 15 overall seed in the tournament and the top-seed in the regional, will start the double-elimination event with a game against Missouri State (27-18). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the SEC Network.
