The British Medical Association has been condemned by its own members with doctors saying the union is failing to support and value female medics and those from minority groups.

Only just over half of recommendations from the 2019 Romney review into sexism in the BMA have been fully implemented, according to a report obtained by GPonline.

The BMA could push for GP practices to withdraw en masse from PCNs by 2023 following a debate scheduled for its annual conference later this month.

More than nine in ten female doctors (91%) have experienced sexism in the workplace within the last two years, with 42% saying they did not feel able to report it, a new BMA poll has found.
