Soltys, who spent the the past four seasons as the Maine Nordiques' general manager, left the organization to become an assistant on the Maine Black Bears coaching staff — a role he held in 2004-05.

The new team will play in the NAHL's East Division, starting next season, at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

The Colisee welcomed back fans for the Nordiques’ games over weekend, the first time since the fall. “We had a very internally successful year because we kept playing without fans (for majority of the season),” Antonacci said. “Now that we are returning to fans, (last Saturday) was free admission, last (Friday) was free admission.
