Data Localization Law News Today

In the fast-paced and ever-changing world of digital transformation, a robust policy framework is imperative behind the growth and sustenance of local data centers and cloud services. Data centers act as the physical homes of our digital lives, housing servers, storage systems, and network equipment.

As we reported earlier, the Law “On Personal Data” was amended in January 2021. The amendments prescribe a new obligation on localizing the personal data of Uzbek citizens. These changes came into force on April 16, 2021 (Data Localization Law).
