Two new large language models, Jamba and DBRX, dramatically reduce the compute and memory needed for predictions, while meeting or beating the performance of top models such as GPT-3.5 and Llama 2.

Enterprise customers are shifting to open source options to build customised generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools using their own data, according to Databricks.

Databricks has introduced DBRX, a flexible large language model developed by Mosaic AI and trained on NVIDIA DGX Cloud, offering democratized training and customization for organizations.

Databricks' enterprise software is now available to the intelligence community through Amazon Web Services' digital catalog of third-party software, data and services. The company said Monday its listing in AWS Marketplace for IC will allow customers to purchase and deploy a suite of artificial intelligence-powered tools to build, maintain and unify their data, analytics and AI tools.

Hosts Sophia d'Antoine and Ian Roos presented the list at Summercon in Brooklyn, where they also handed out a surprise Lifetime Achievement Award.
