After a four-year drought, the Baltimore Blast will once again compete for a Major Arena Soccer League championship.

It had always been journeyman defender Patrick Thompson's dream to play for the Baltimore Blast, and it became a reality during the 2022-23 season after recovering from a torn ACL.

The Blast started the season slowly but finished strong to earn the second seed in their division.

The Blast went 5-2 to close out the regular season, despite William Vanzela missing the last three games. "It's one game at a time, one series at a time," Vanzela said of the team's playoff mindset. "How do you get out of that series and move on to whoever we play next."

The season began oddly for the Baltimore Blast, with just three wins their first eight games. But after a pair of wins, they're getting into a groove.

The Baltimore Blast made history, signing a 10-year-old boy. It'll be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream that couldn't have come at a better time.

The Baltimore Blast have fully returned, not just from a missed season due to COVID-19, but an outbreak in December as well. And even with a new coach, they've returned to their winning ways as well.

Carol Hale had never attended a live sporting event until her son, Edwin F. Hale, Sr., purchased the Baltimore Blast in 1988. She soon became the Blast’s No. 1 fan.
