Laurens man pleads not guilty to theft, forgery charges
A Laurens man was arraigned in Clay County court by writing on Friday, Dec. 15, after being charged with felony forgery and theft in Spencer. David Robert Steiner was charged with second-degree theft and forgery after Spencer police said he wrote a check for $2,383.64 to the Spencer Bomgaars store from an account that didn’t belong to him and had been closed in 2016. Steiner entered a plea of not guilty in answer to the charges against him.
