Weber County officials are happy Snowbasin ski resort has been picked as a proposed site for the 2034 Olympics and hold out hope the Ice Sheet, host site for curling in 2002, will also be a location.

While Ski Utah promotes the state’s snowsports industry, it extends well beyond representing ski resorts, providing snow reports and disseminating information.

As the resort’s third lift enhancement in four years, the lift will double the uphill capacity for the resort’s Strawberry side of the mountain with the ability to transport 2,400 riders every hour with a 10-minute ride time, Snowbasin officials said.

Snowbasin Resort is now celebrating its snowiest and longest season on record. Even then, the snow keeps coming and the newly established records are likely to continue to be broken.  

Snowbasin Resort announced the ski season will end April 23, marking the longest season in 80 years for the resort.
