The parent of a fallen Monroe County deputy is upset after someone stole items from her son’s grave.

The M 17 scholarship was started to honor the memory of Deputy Dylan Pickle.

The winner of a scholarship that honors the memory of a Monroe County sheriff's deputy is a recent graduate of the department's academy for part-time officers.

Tuesday was an emotional day for the family and friends of a former Monroe County sheriff’s deputy who was killed in the line of duty two years ago.

The sheriffs department got a sign to mark the site where Pickle was killed to show that he's still with them.

Winners of a recent beauty pageant handed out gifts of appreciation to deputies at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.

All of the money raised will send someone to police academy through the Deputy Dylan Pickle Memorial Scholarship. 

The funds raised from the Miss M17 pageant will help a future law enforcement officer go through the training academy.

The mother of a Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy, killed in the line of duty is doing her own part to remember officers across the country.
