Demand is rising to help growing homeless population in St. Johns County

This partnership aimed to convert the 100-year-old dwelling into a safe and welcoming haven for the Homeless Coalition. The goal was to offer stable housing and essential services to homeless families with children.

With reduced federal funding in hand, a St. Augustine nonprofit is turning to creative methods to revamp housing for homeless families.  The Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County is in St. Augustine near West King Street.  The nonprofit has 23 houses total, including transitional and permanent housing.
