With rain projected throughout the weekend, Interstate 83 bridge repairs have been postponed.

There will be around-the-clock lane restrictions on Interstate 83 in place for two consecutive weekends starting the weekend of Friday, Sept. 8.

Nighttime lane restrictions will be in place on Interstate 83 in York County as bridge deck repairs are being done south of Route 30.

This is an update to what was previously announced.

Traffic will be shifted so a contractor can mill and pave the bridges and replace expansion dams.

The work, which was initially planned to begin the night of June 1, will now begin at 6 p.m. June 5.

Weather permitting, the contractor will begin placing barriers on westbound Route 22/322 at approximately 6 p.m. June 1.

The Eberts Lane bridge will be closed starting Wednesday.

The bridge replacement is part of the improvements for the widening of Interstate 83.

Crews are working to paint and repair concrete on bridges and ramps at the Interstate 81 and Route 22 interchange.
