Mother nature has played havoc with emergency dune restoration plans, already washing away more than 20,000 tons of sand deposited in Singer Island as part of a $2.5 million project.

The County Commission has voted to buy more land for preservation purposes from an area known as Palm Beach Heights. This is part of a yearslong effort with not only the county but the state and the Department of Environmental Resources Management.

Private property threatened and even damaged. That’s the reality and constant concern for our neighbors who live and work near a scenic spot in Palm Beach County.
