Banning firearms on university property does not violate the Second Amendment, a panel of judges ruled on Friday. The Supreme Court could still weigh in.

In their opinion, judges wrote that schools are considered "sensitive places" where carrying a firearm can be banned.

On Friday, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed its earlier opinion, concluding that while Wade was within his Second Amendment rights to carry, UM "is a school, and thus, a sensitive place."

The ruling marks the second time a Court of Appeals panel has ruled in the lawsuit filed by Ann Arbor resident Joshua Wade.
