Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of being "a pawn for the Democrats" and called on Republicans to remove him as Senate minority leader "immediately."

McConnell and other Republicans had ample reason to assist Democrats in raising the debt ceiling, despite Trumps disapproval.
