As in some other BJP-ruled states, the alleged illegal structures belonging to persons accused of committing heinous crimes have been demolished in Madhya Pradesh in recent years.

A 12-year-old mentally challenged girl, semi-naked and bleeding from rape injuries, went from door to door asking for help. People did not turn their eyes away, they stared at her, but refused to help.
