Manhattan: The Daily News published yet another inaccurate story about ThriveNYC, continuing a false narrative that’s harmful to the mental health of New Yorkers in need (”Mental health plan didn’t quite ‘thrive,’ ” Dec. 29). Let’s correct the record.

But six years and more than $1.2 billion later, mental health experts and fiscal watchdogs are questioning what exactly the program has achieved and what the shape of it will be when de Blasio leaves office on Jan. 1.

A pair of mental health “diversion” centers in East Harlem and the Bronx, which the city first announced in 2014 and hoped to have open by 2016, which were intended to help treat as many as 2,400 mentally ill and substance-addicted New Yorkers each year who’d otherwise end up in hospital emergency rooms or in jail, have gotten off to a veeeery slow start.
