Press Sports Editor sports@presspublications.com From top to bottom, Oak Harbor’s girls softball lineup might be better than it was last year. That’s saying something, considering that last season the Rockets won their first-ever regional championship in getting to the final four.

The voting to make Oak Harbor senior Reagan Schultz the Alan Miller Jewelers All-Press Pitcher of the Year and Eastwood junior Delaney Maynard the All-Press Offensive Player of the Year was overwhelmingly in their favor.

Two junior softball players, Eastwood catcher Delaney Maynard and Gibsonburg pitcher Jenna Bloomfield, were first team All-Ohio selections.

Two years ago, the Alan Miller Jewelers pitcher of the year, then-Eastwood senior Ashley Hitchcock, had an 0.61 ERA, striking out 369 batters in 171 innings and giving up only 15 earned runs.
