The West Virginia Public Service Commission has issued key approvals for a 2,060-megawatt gas-fired plant in Doddridge County, West Virginia. The PSC signed off plans for a gas-fired plant and potential carbon capture facility to go along with the plant.

The West Virginia House of Delegates passed bills, on Feb. 27, 2024, to give bonuses to correctional workers and pay raises to teachers. House Bill 4734 would provide bonuses to jail and prison employees who are not correctional officers. House Bill 4883 would provide annual salary increases for public school teachers and service personnel, state troopers and other state employees.
