President Joe Biden will announce Monday the allocation of $40 billion in federal funds to distributed to states in an effort to expand high-speed Internet to every nook of the country by 2030.

More than $1 Billion is being invested into expanding broadband across Georgia, according to the Biden Administration.

The move will kick off the second leg of Biden's tour highlighting how legislation passed by Congress during the first half of his term will affect average Americans, as his reelection bid gears up.

A total of $42 billion is being allocated nationwide to expand high-speed internet access, and Maine's share is the largest for any state in New England.

New York State will receive $664 million in federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act to expand affordable high-speed internet across the state.

The new investments included $42.5 billion for the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program, known as BEAD, which Congress enacted as part of a sprawling 2021 law to improve the nation's infrastructure.
