Washington, Jun 26 (Prensa Latina) President Joe Biden on Monday announced the allocation of billion in federal funds to distributed to states in an effort to expand high-speed Internet to every nook of the country by 2030.

In an effort to universalize access to high-speed broadband by 2030, the White House has allocated $42 billion to the 50 states and U.S. territories under the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program.

Less populous states like Virginia, Alabama and Louisiana cracked the top 10 list for funding due to lack of broadband access.

The administration estimates there are some 8.5 million locations in the US that lack access to broadband connections.

The White House on Monday unveiled how the government will divvy up $42 billion among the nations 50 states to expand access to high-speed broadband by 2030.
