Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities to arrange accommodation on Khas or government-owned fallow land for freedom fighters who cannot afford to construct houses on their land. );

She gave the instructions while presiding over an ECNEC meeting to approve a housing project for freedom fighters via video call from Ganabhaban on Tuesday.
Houses will be built across the country under the Tk 41.23 billion project, titled Bir Nibas , as a gift from the prime minister to indigent freedom fighters as the country marks Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman s birth centenary and the golden jubilee of its independence.

Each 635 square feet house, to be called Bir Nibas, will include two bedrooms, two washrooms, a dining space and a kitchen.
A Tk 41.23 billion project to build the houses across Bangladesh will be placed at the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council or ECNEC for approval on Tuesday.
The offices of 64 deputy commissioners and the UNOs will implement the project to be supervised by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
