Cafe Deux Soleils in East Vancouver, which has served as a hub for poets, musicians and other members of the community since the 1990s, abruptly announced its permanent closure on Tuesday.

East Vancouvers Café Deux Soleils is permanently shutting its doors on Commercial Drive after 28 years of serving meals and hosting performances. The closure comes 10 months after the business was listed for sale, and despite hopes from the community that the venue could be saved.
