The system allows investigators to plug in the license plate number and/or vehicle descriptions into the software to come up with a “hit” of a suspect vehicle that may have passed by a recognition camera.

Devante Everette, 29, of New Baltimore was arraigned on multiple charges stemming from an April 11 incident where he fled from police in a stolen vehicle.

The incident began minutes after 9 a.m. when officers were alerted to a stolen silver Jeep Grand Cherokee by a street security camera system with license-plate reading capabilities and attempted to pull over the vehicle.
