The private home in Cardiff is set to be demolished. Neighbours fought the plans for a cycle path because of fears it would create a rat run but the plans were approved on Tuesday by the council.

The four-bedroom private home, which is less than 20 years old, will be flattened in a leafy cul-de-sac in the Pontprennau suburb of Cardiff as part of plans for 45 homes in an affordable development.

Developers are proposing demolishing a perfectly good house which is less than 20 years old to make way for a cycle path.   The £300,000 four-bedroom private home could be destroyed to create a cycle route to a new affordable housing development.
