Three teenagers were injured after gunfire erupted at a reception to mourn a 15-year-old fatally stabbed at school. Minneapolis police say the injuries are not life threatening.

A double-fatal shooting Saturday bumped St. Paul's 2023 homicide total to five. While that number is down from nine homicides by this point in 2022, all five this year happened within two weeks.

St. Paul police are investigating possible connections between two groups of teens and a recent spree of violent crimes. In the meantime, community leaders are working to create peace.

The two people who were killed in a shooting after a celebration of life event in St. Paul Saturday evening have been identified. 

Residents said Saturday that there are no easy answers to youth violence, the day after three teens were shot and injured outside a funeral reception for the Harding High School stabbing victim.

St. Paul police confirm five people were injured in a shooting early Saturday evening in a “chaotic scene” following a celebration of life event. Two men injured in the shooting have died, one man is in critical condition and two women are being treated at hospitals for gunshot wounds.

The non-fatal shootings occurred Friday night at a rec center where a memorial for Devin Scott, 15, had been held.

Three people were shot Friday evening at the funeral reception for 15-year-old Devin Scott, who was fatally stabbed earlier this month at Harding High School, according to Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher.
