The technology company building a hyperscale data center in east Allen County is Google.

Google has 24 data centers in the world, 14 of those in North America. The nearest to Indiana is in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio.

Google on Friday announced it has purchased the nearly 900 acres of land being used for the development, which until now has been known as “Project Zodiac.”
