Devonte Gafford, 32, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide as a party to the crime for the death of Devon Grant, a week shy of his 21st birthday in a close-range shooting on July 13, at the Harmony apartments in Madison. Gaffords trial began Tuesday with testimony from the victims mother, who witnessed the gunfire that killed her son.

Wednesday marked the second day of trial for one of two men in the deadly shooting at a Madison apartment complex last summer.

According to court records, trial is expected to last for three days.
