Everyone is invited to join in a public discussion focusing on how to achieve reliable broadband internet service across Southern Illinois and the state. The Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Research Park, 1740 Innovation Drive, is the site for the conversation, set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1.

Hundreds of Stockton residents have received their own laptops, tablets, and even internet service for free as part of the Digital Equity Project, which was created during the pandemic and funded through federal aid such as the American Rescue Plan Act.
