The first students in the USU College of Veterinary Medicine have begun their path to a veterinary degree from Utah State University

The Interim Dean of Utah State University’s brand-new College of Veterinary Medicine, Dirk Vanderwall, has been named the Utah Veterinary Medical Association’s 2023 Veterinarian of the Year.

The Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine’s 2022 Annual Conference and J. T. Vaughan Equine Conference — held Oct. 20-23 — continued a tradition of 115 consecutive years of continuing education provided by the Southeast’s oldest veterinary program.

The new Utah State University College of Veterinary Medicine is officially USU’s ninth college after receiving required approvals from university and state higher education governing groups.
