For the ninth day so far in December, Alachua County on Monday reported more than 100 new COVID-19 cases in a single day. State health department data also showed that another resident has died from the virus. In the county, 116 residents have died from the coronavirus, including at least 57 men and 41 women who ranged in age from 28 to 100.
