After becoming the first black man to become a series regular on a sitcom in the 1950s, ‘Battlestar Galactica’ actor Terry Carter has died aged 95.

The actor died at his home in New York on Tuesday morning. He was 95.

Terry Carter, known for his roles as Colonel Tigh in the original Battlestar Galactica and as Sgt. Joe Broadhurst on TV series McCloud, died Tuesday.
