Doesnt Vindicate News Today

So, listen, you said this doesnt vindicate the president but comey is feeling like it vindicates him, certainly, right? >> hes acting like it. i think that tweet showed a little bit of chutzpah, as my people say. i think he was reaching there. look, he did wrong. there is no getting around he did wrong. its not on par with the president demanding loyalty and trying to shut things down. he took information about an ongoing case and tried to leak it through a friend. by the way, why would he give ...

A bad example for the 35,000 members of the fbi, i think its also the case we have to look at what his motivations are. if the message is they dont want other members of the fbi to do that, we cant look at that separate and distinct from why james comey did this. there were legitimate concerns that he had, and i think that the investigation that mueller did and the other investigations that are going on are legitimate investigations to look at what we still dont understand about this presidents ...

From talking to individuals, from using public resources to discover information thats needed for the entity or individuals that are paying for said information. of course with anything like that you will have some type of information that wont be completely accurate but that doesnt take away from the completion of the document. back to the point i made earlier, it doesnt vindicate president trump completely. i kind of see republicans playing a political side as well as democrats. youre going to...

Surrounding people. what is striking to me is there is no effort to appeal to moderate minded people, people in the middle or undecided at all. it works in the short term when you say things to your core group like were vindicated in a document that doesnt vindicate you at all. you can persuade your core group to believe that. but theres nothing to the rest of the country. thats a self-defeat that has happened quite early. >> neera, i wanted to show something that the the russians paid for speci...

Allegedly staged pro and anti-trump rallies on the same day to keep up the confusion. with a budget of more than $1 million a month, the russians even communicated with unwitting members, volunteers, and supporters of the trump campaign, all while hiding their true identity according to the deputy attorney general. >> theres no allegation in this indictment that any american had any knowledge. >> reporter: rob rosenstein specifically citing only this indictment. though the presidents taking a br...

I find really hard to believe. >> david frum, we did get a presidential reaction to this news today from bernie sanders, who issued -- he was one of the people that the russians were trying to help in the primaries against hillary clinton. he issued a statement of outrage about what the russians did. a statement of urgency about trying to stop them in the 2018 elections. the president of the united states could not bring himself to say anything like that. >> yet we do see the emergence of a defe...

A statement of urgency about trying to stop them in the 2018 elections. the president of the united states could not bring himself to say anything like that. >> yet we do see the emergence of a defense messaging strategy from the president and his surrounding people. what is striking to me is there is no effort to appeal to moderate minded people, people in the middle or undecided at all. it works in the short term when you say things to your core group like were vindicated in a document that do...

Law mimake lawmakers, including trey gowdy say this doesnt vindicate the president. it validates the russia investigation. if you look at the memo, one thing we learned of it was big and under cuts the republican talking point is the investigation into the presidents campaign began with george papadopoulos. it did start with the dossier from chris steele. they feel it was compiled by somebody with bias against the president. if that moment led to the investigation, that would somehow undercut th...

Republicans, what did you think when you heard trey gowdy say that wasnt the case? trey gowdy has been involved in this, he has been involved in crafting that memo. why did he go on tv and say that this basically doesnt vindicate the president because there are all sorts of other threads that existed outside of this? >> well, i cant speak for trey. clearly he announced hes not coming back to congress. i hope that he can continue to talk exactly about his respect for the intelligence committee an...

Other side. it wasnt blocked, it has to go through the same vetting process the republicans did. >> this particular memo is one sided. if you listen to folks who have seen the intelligence like gowdy they indicate it doesnt vindicate the president at all because the don junior happened in trump tower, george papadopoulos is still the person that triggered the investigation and this memo confirms that. >> melissa: things need to be followed. here is governor radcliffe. >> i can tell you that i ha...
