Harrahs Columbus NE Racing and Casino opened with 11 table games, 400 slot machines, Caesars Race and Sportsbook betting area and more.

After almost two years of preparation, public anticipation and a temporary home at Ag Park, Harrahs Columbus NE Racing and Casino opens.

Harrahs Nebraska in Columbus is expected to open its doors Friday. The states first fully completed casino will have more than 500 slot machines, 14 table games and a sportsbook.

A mid-April storm has pushed back the opening of Harrahs casino in Columbus, Nebraska, to a yet-to-be-determined date, its general manager said.

Nebraskas first full-fledged, newly built and state sanctioned gambling casino is slated to open in Columbus next month, marking a milestone in the states rollout of casino gambling.

The Columbus Casino, which is at the Platte County Ag Society Park, features more than 250 slot machines and betting on horse races. 

Caesars Entertainment has officially opened Columbus Casino, its temporary gaming facility at Platte County Ag Society Park.

The Harrahs Columbus Casino officially opened for business at its temporary location at Ag Park on June 12.

Temporary casino to open June 12

On Friday, the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission approved a gaming license for a temporary casino at Ag Park in Columbus.
