Los Angeles has removed traffic signs some have called anti-gay that were installed in the 1990s in one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods.

The anti-gay signs first put up in the 1990s read 'No U-turn' to discourage men from cruising in the Silver Lake neighborhood. Now locals celebrate it's removal.

The signs were meant to keep gay men from cruising and picking up other gay men on Griffith Park Boulevard decades ago.

Street signs that officials said previously targeted LGBTQ community members were taken down from a Silver Lake neighborhood Monday.
