UK Oil and Gas Investments wanted to drill for oil on the Isle of Wight, their plans have just been refused.

It was a battle between the economy and the environment as the Isle of Wight Council decided tonight (Tuesday) to reject exploratory oil drilling on the Isle of Wight.

Members of the Planning Committee spent several hours hearing about the application before making their decision
