The heatwave that helped attract thousands of visitors to West Kerry over the bank holiday weekend brought no joy to the people of Inch where the village was once again tied up in traffic gridlock and locals feared emergency services would be unable to reach them if they needed help.

Lengthy traffic delays in and out of the hugely popular Rossbeigh Beach over the weekend led to journeys of up to an hour and half for motorists travelling from Glenbeigh to Killorglin.
