Honoring the request from a group of residents in the Somerset Meadows subdivision in the New London of Bedford County, the county’s board of supervisors unanimously voted Monday to vacate an unopened, unnamed road in the neighborhood.

Bedford Town Council voted Tuesday to approve a rezoning plan that will allow a development of more than 100 single-family homes, a project that drew concerns mostly centered on traffic from several neighbors.
