During its regular meeting, Wichita Falls City Council moved to vote whether it would suspend the drought restrictions placed on Wichita Falls water customers.

Instead of mandatory measures, residents are asked to voluntarily reduce their water useage.

The dry weather was a hot topic throughout the summer and that trend has continued into the fall.

Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and Perry counties are in drought watch, while York County is in drought warning, the state DEP said.

Residents on drought warning are asked to reduce their individual water use by 10 to 15%, or a reduction of six to nine gallons of water per day.
