'We are so incredibly relieved': Toronto's drug checking pilot gets greenlight to expand

Since launching in the fall of 2019, the service has analyzed more than 10,000 samples from the unregulated drug supply in the city. Now with the go-ahead to expand provincially, the service aims to extend the service to those hardest hit in rural and northern Ontario.

UCLA team researches illicit drug supply chain in Los Angeles

A UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine team launched the Drug Checking Los Angeles project to reduce illicit drug overdoses. Chelsea Shover, the principal investigator of the study, said in an emailed statement that she started the research project to better understand and help regulate the illicit drug supply in LA.
