The Pure environmental initiative has reached a milestone in combating illegal dumping in the Wicklow Mountains having marked the collection of over 4,000 tonnes of rubbish and litter since its formation in 2006.
New data from Pure has revealed that over 120,000kg (120 tonnes) of illegally dumped waste was collected from 830 individual sites across the Wicklow and Dublin uplands in 2023.

GROUPS, communities, individuals, schools, businesses and organisations are urged to get involved in the Pure Mile initiative, with volunteers having collected over 2,000 bags of waste since the start of the year from the Wicklow and Dublin Uplands.
