Executive Order (EO) 687-2021 said from general community quarantine since July 1, MECQ will be in effect October 16 to 31. It marked the second time the city was placed under MECQ after May 8 to June 30 this year. 67 travelers with fake RT-PCR penalized in Zambo City

(PNA file photo) ZAMBOANGA CITY - A total of 67 inbound travelers have so far been penalized for presenting falsified Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) negative test results since the start of the second semester this year. City Tourism Office Sarita Sebastian announced Tuesday that among these travelers, the latest to be sanctioned are seven travelers from Isabela and Lamitan Cities in Basilan who arrived between October 4 to 10 and presented falsified RT-PCR test results. "There are already 67 travelers with fake RT-PCR test results penalized by the police since July," Sebastian said. The penalty included the issuance of a citation ticket to pay the fine of PHP500 each and violators were ordered to return to the point of origin at their own expense. Zambo City Health Office (File photo) ZAMBOANGA CITY - The city government here has converted one of its isolation facilities into a mini-hospital to help address a shortage of beds in the local hospitals amid the surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases. Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Saturday converted into a mini-hospital is the Convention Center Isolation facility in Barangay Pasonanca, which has a 150-bed capacity. Miravite said the mini-hospital can even accommodate Covid-19 patients with moderate conditions aside from those with mild symptoms. She said another measure adopted is the transfer of patients with mild symptoms to isolation facilities to decongest the local hospitals. "These are the thing that we have done to address the shortage of beds," she added.
